Black Bear Lodge Tahoe: gold and blue

Taken just a few days ago, Tahoe is beauty beyond words. The aspens are every color of gold and orange and the wind has been kind enough to let the leafed trees show off all their glory. It’s shoulder season now and rates are very attractive. Come visit! Stay awhile.

Recent five star reviews:

“Great location, nice back porch, convenient amenities. This rental has a “cabin-y” feel. It is unpretentious and homey.”

“I loved the accommodations… simple and basic and just like home.”

High water, high times at South Lake Tahoe

Mark Twain’s take on Lake Tahoe:  “surely the fairest picture the whole earth affords” couldn’t be more “right on” this year. With water levels at their highest in recorded history, summer 2017 promises to be spectacular.

The perfect reason to make the Black Bear your vacation destination this year. Just minutes from the beach (located at the end of Tahoe Keys Boulevard), and situated on a quiet sunny meadow, who could ask for anything more.  North Shore tends to go to sleep early.  South Lake has more activity opportunities and promises more fun: better access to hiking, shopping, more bike trails, boat rentals, historic state parks, more lakeside restaurants and the casinos are just up the road.

Sure, we have a terrific kitchen at our cabin, but if you need a break, treat yourself to a water-view lunch or sunset Happy Hour just up the road:

Riva Grill On the Lake,  900 Ski Run Blvd Ste 3, (530) 542-2600

Artemis Lakefront Cafe Ski Run Marina, 900 Ski Run Blvd #111,  (530) 542-3332
Boathouse on the Pier 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd, (530) 545-4338

The scene here at South Lake Tahoe on October 14. Put on your sunglasses, get out your cameras, the trees are glowing bronze, gold, orange. The scene from the living room window looking out to the willow and aspen doesn’t get any better. Now all we need is your company. Fall in Tahoe: spectakkkkk.
